Bloomsbury Academy Autumn Conference 2009

Archaelogy and the Bible

BA's Autumn Conference was held in UCL on Saturday 24 October and attended by an audience of over 220. Six distinguished scholars, drawn from The British Museum and the Department of Biblical Studies in the University of Sheffield, delivered a total of seven lectures, one of them short and introductory, several introduced by readings from the Old Testament delivered by the actor PHILIP MADOC. The lectures ranged widely in terms of time and space but together presented a remarkably coherent overview of recent archaeological discoveries relevant to the Old Testament, some of them sensational.

You can read a selective view of these here, kindly provided by TIM RADFORD, who has in the past covered BA Conferences
for The Guardian.
