UK SCENE
The last few years have seen an extraordinary blossoming of regional Egyptological
societies in the UK. A development without parallel anywhere else in the world,
it gives enthusiasts throughout Great Britain the chance to get together, to
attend Egyptological lectures previously only available in major cities, and
thus to share mutual interests. Geographical and other factors mean that some
groups have more of a struggle for survival than others, but EgyptologyUK exists
to help promote all of them, and bring Egyptology to as wide a public as possible.
